According to ongoing research, daily consumption of Cherry Juice reduces the pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. To date no other fruit or vegetable has the pain relieving properties of Montmorency Cherries. The study showed people who drank tart cherry juice while training for a long distance run reported significantly less pain after exercise than those who didn’t.

researchers say the early finding indicate cherries may work like common medications used by runners to alleviate post-exercise inflammation of the pain sufferers.

Eating fruit and vegetables slightly reduces the risk of developing cancer, a new study suggests.  Although eating more fruit and vegetables has been associated with cancer prevention for some time, it was not clear how strong the effect was.

The findings of the study, which appear in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, show that around two-and-a-half extra servings of fruit and vegetables a day are linked with a three per cent lower risk of cancer.

Eating just one serving of green leafy vegetables or three servings of fruit a day reduces the risk of diabetes, say researchers at Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and the Harvard School of Public Health.

They also said, “Based on the results of our study, people who have risk factors for diabetes may find it helpful to fill up on leafy greens like lettuces, kale and spinach and whole fruits, like apples, bananas, oranges and watermelon rather than drink fruit juices, which deliver a big sugar load in a liquid form that gets absorbed rapidly.”
