A number of conditions may cause pain or discomfort during intercourse, sex is meant to be an enjoyable and happy experience. If you get pain, it isn’t.

Vaginismus can cause both deep and superficial pain and is a common cause of pain during sex. It’s a spasm of the vaginal muscles, caused mainly by fear of being hurt. Certain vaginal infections, such as vaginal yeast infections and trichomoniasis are other causes.

Vaginal dryness  often causes painful sexual intercourse,  cysts on the ovary can cause deep pain. Pain may also be caused if the tip of the penis hits an unusually positioned ovary.

Causes of  genital pain include:
Irritation of the prostate gland and urethra from therapy, which can cause painful ejaculation. Tumors of the penis, testicles, prostate or anywhere in the rectum may cause genital pain.

Other causes are cancers, such as cervical, endometrial, vaginal, ovarian, or vulvar. pelvic radiation, chemotherapy, decreased vaginal lubrication or painful intercourse, increased vaginal irritation is also common.

Some genital pain symptoms are;

Yellowish or greenish discharge from the tip of your penis, decreased vaginal lubrication, or painful intercourse, change in vaginal sensation, decreased elasticity of the vagina, and shortening of the vaginal vault may all lead to pain during intercourse.

Increased vaginal irritation is also common, painful, itchy rash or small red bumps, blisters or sores on your penis,penis tender or swollen, blood in your urine or semen, or pain with ejaculation.

Prostate pain presents in the lower back & often results in urinary problems,  tender, swollen prostate, Pain in your penis, frequent urination, burning urination.
