Sciatica is caused by compression of one or more of the five sets of nerve roots in the lower back. Other things that may make your sciatica pain worse include being overweight, not exercising regularly, wearing high heels, or sleeping on a mattress that is too soft.

*Piriformis syndrome.
*Spinal tumors.
*Trauma.
*Sciatic nerve tumor or injury.
