Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix,a 3 1/2-inch-long tube of tissue that extends from the large intestine. It contains specialized tissue that can produce antibodies.

Appendicitis is a medical emergency that requires prompt surgery to remove the appendix. Left untreated, an inflamed appendix will eventually burst, or perforate, spilling infectious materials into the abdominal cavity.

The original appendicitis pain location is the naval area. It starts here and progresses to the lower right part of the abdomen. Appendix is one of the causes of serious belly pain. It happens when the appendix, a part of the large
intestine, becomes infected and inflamed.

The pain may also be felt in other parts of the abdomen and in the back. Therefore, appendicitis pain in back and appendicitis pain in left side are also not uncommon.The intensity of the appendicitis pain is usually very sharp.
The pain in your belly gets stronger and moves below your belly button on your right side.

Appendix pain begins when the opening from the appendix into the cecum becomes blocked. If the inflammation and infection spread through the wall of the appendix, the appendix can rupture and infection can spread throughout the abdomen.

A child with appendix pain usually develops a slight fever, loses his appetite, feels nauseous, and may vomit. Appendicitis pain starts in the naval area then progresses to the lower right side of the abdomen.
